On the Same Page in 2007

Cincinnati's citywide reading program, On the Same Page, is in full swing. Family and friends, neighbors, and co-workers are reading The Joy Luck Club by Amy Tan.   For teens, The Lightning Thief by Rick Riordan is this year's action-packed selection. 

You can participate any number of ways.  Pick up a copy of the book at any Library location or contact a branch to get multiple copies for a book club or class.  Host your own discussion or attend a Library book discussion group.  Post your comments about the book on the On the Same Page web site.

To celebrate The Joy Luck Club, there will be a series of Asian cooking classes at Wild Oats, and instructors will be visiting library branches and teaching the game of Mah-Jongg, a game that figures prominently in the book.

Meet Rick Riordan, author of The Lightning Thief, at Joseph-Beth Booksellers on Tuesday, March 20th, at 7:00 pm.  Teens can test their knowledge of mythology at one of several fun events throughout the month of March.  Teachers - find out how to get your students involved in this exciting first book of the Percy Jackson and the Olympians trilogy!
