Bleed to Love Beth Cooper

I laughed until I cried. Denis Cooverman, delivers a valedictory speech of a lifetime that includes outing a closeted homosexual, exposing clandestine teacher's affairs and exposing the truth about rumors. He airs his own dirty laundry when he makes the simple declaration, " I Love You, Beth Cooper." And then the novel rockets off into oblivion via VW Cabriolet convertible.
After the speech of the decade, Denis is confronted by Beth Cooper and can think of nothing else but to invite her to a party that has yet to exist. Needless to say, we are on the edge of our seats in anticipation. Will Beth come to the party? Will Denis get his girl? If so, at what price? Suspense and action reign in this unforgettable throwback to high school. Like it or not, nostalgia here we come. Each chapter features an infamous quote from an 80's angsty teen movie and yes, even the ones we thought we'd forgotten are included in bold letters.
Doyle captures the clipped mood of adolescence and the desperation of unrequited love in is this blindingly wild ride of a novel. Emotions are splashed across the paper and as a result the reader suffers with ecstacy along side Denis Cooverman. I read it in a day. A version for the screen is on the horizon. There is nothing left to say but, I Love You, Larry Doyle and Beth Cooper too.
